I work from home for long hours and found ergo chairs overpriced. After my last died, it was time to look at something else. The Mirra is well designed and comfortable. It does what it says - easy to adjust and provides good support and comfort. It is expensive for a chair, but after a few weeks with it, the quality and comfort make it worthwhile. -- Lovely Product
If you exceed the 300 lb weight limit, these chairs have a defect that causes them lock down when you sit down, and spring up when you stand up. Google for "Paul vs Herman Miller Mirra Chair" or see this YouTube link for a video: [...] -- Be careful about exceeding the weight limit
After surveying chairs at local retailers, I opted to send away for a Herman Miller because I've had great experiences with them in the past.

This time, I bought the fully loaded (deluxe) version of the Mirra chair. Amazon fulfilled the order through the back experts at [...] (Amazon charged the same price as the Backstore posts on their site). The backstore folks were very friendly and helpful.

The chair is all I hoped it would be.

The seat height, tilt tension (provides more/less stability and back support while reclining), seat depth, arm height, arm angle, arm width, forward tilt, tilt limiter, lumbar height, and lumbar depth make this chair fully adjustable to any body size (I'm 6'4" 240#).

The breathable weave, soft but supportive body-forming feel, and adjustment flexibility make this chair an all-day comfort experience (I opted for the graphite).

I highly recommend the chair and the good people at www.backstore.com.

-- Great chair, great people
The Mirra is a great chair. I have a spinal cord injury and work at a desk all day. This chair is a life saver, it is cool comfortable and gives me support where I need it the most. It is flexible and surprisingly, has a soft feel that you can only understand once you sit in it. I would rate it as a definite buy, however here a few things you should know first.

1. You probably won't save much, if any, money buying anything made by Herman Miller online. I bought my fully loaded mirra out the door including tax for 770.00USD from a mom and pop brick and mortar store in Madison, WI. If if breaks, I know who to call and where to take it.
2. ONLY BUY FROM AN AUTHORIZED DEALER! These chairs come with a 12 year warranty, but only if you buy it new from an authorized dealer. You may save 100 bucks or so buying it used or refurbished... they may even say it will come with a warranty, but be careful and read the small print... That warranty may only be for one or two years from the place you bought it at NOT the full 12 year warranty from Herman Miller. If you buy it used Herman Miller will not honor the original warranty (no matter how much you whine), unless you buy it directly from a Herman Miller outlet store.
3. Do yourself and Herman Miller a favor and buy a brand spankin' new Mirra from an Authorized brick and mortar dealer. Try it before you buy it, and have some comfort in knowing your purchase is backed by a real warranty and real people who wanna make you happy. -- Great chair, worth the money
I bought this chair a few weeks ago through Amazon. I had tried it at a store and had felt comfortable comparing it to other HM chairs, but I haven't been really satisfied with it since it has arrived. One may need to spend longer time in it before deciding (and spending this much money).

A few points:

- If you are used to standard ergonomic chairs, you may expect the seat to tilt when you lean back. It does not, only the back of the chair moves. This may annoy some.
- Terms like "fully loaded" sound like you will end up with very many adjustment options. Basically, the seat goes up and down, the back moves back and forth (you can adjust the tension) and the arms go in and out and up and down. You can also adjust the angle of the very front edge of the seat a tiny bit. That's it. Some high-end common ergonomic office chairs give more options.
- If you are coming from cushioned chairs, the material of this chair is hard and very non-slippery. Your bottom stays where you put it, you don't slide forward, and for me that is positive. But after spending a few hours in it, I personally begin to think of paddings, cushions, etc. Arm rests (padded) are very comfortable. Maybe "food that is good for you should not taste good" principle applies to chairs as well: ergonomics may have some discomfort factored in. It does not give me the feeling I feel when I sit in a comfortable arm chair and it is possible that it is not supposed to. Again, the way one is built may have a lot to do with it (I am medium height and weight).
- I find the back comfortable but the lumbar support piece that can be adjusted vertically is not as significant as it sounds. Maybe my lower back is too curved for the support to reach.
- Your bottom and your back do not sweat in this chair.
- When the chair arrived I couldn't attach the back because the top screw just wouldn't reach and catch the thread. After reporting to Backstore, a tech person called and decided that the back part was the problem and sent me a new back (1 week). When that did not work either, I figured that the part where the back slides in had bent in transportation, so I bent that in using a wrench, shortening the distance for the screw, and that worked. The lesson: the packaging of the chair is not the best, they seem to be short in padding material, so check carefully for shipping damages.

I hope this helps. -- Try it really well before buying
